I love this photo essay on dinner by New York photographer, Miho Aikawa. His beautiful photos capture moments of eating alone and amongst loved ones. His introduction states, “We do almost 50 percent of our eating while concentrating on something else.”
If I think about my own personal eating habits it is almost 100% true that if I am eating alone the food I have in front of my is worse in terms of taste and health than the food in front of me when I eat with friends or family. I think by refocusing our attention to dinner moments (like Aikawa says) we’ll be more likely to eat better.
